Coco Gauff Unveils New Signature Shoe with New Balance: The Coco CG2

With her latest signature shoe, the Coco CG2, launched in collaboration with New Balance, tennis sensation Coco Gauff is making her presence felt on the court in style. The highly anticipated shoe, which debuted this week, is set to hit retail shelves in the eye-catching ‘Power and Grace’ colorway.

The 19-year-old actress expressed her enthusiasm for the new release. “I had as much fun designing and collaborating on the Coco CG2 as I did with the Coco CG1. My relationship with the New Balance team is incredible, and I’m excited to see what people think of the evolution of this shoe.”

The Coco CG2 was created with performance and style in mind following the success of her first signature shoe. According to New Balance, the shoe is a refined advancement of its predecessor, featuring cutting-edge technology meant to enhance Gauff’s performance on the court. The Coco CG2 features New Balance’s responsive Energy Arc technology, multi-density FuelCell midsoles, and carbon fiber plates, visible through window details on the lateral heel and endurance outsoles. Elite tennis athletes who need explosive movement on the court can expect a shoe built with this combination of advanced materials and design elements.

Personal touches in the shoe’s design reflect Gauff’s journey and personality. The left shoe’s label reads ‘power,’ while the right features ‘grace,’ symbolizing the balance she brings to her game. Thanks to the prominent display of the initials’ CG’ on the pivot point, the shoe has a signature flair. The color palette is inspired by the energy of New York City, blending oxidized blue and fireflies for a dynamic look reminiscent of The Statue of Liberty and the city’s glowing lights. A trophy detail on the back of the shoe represents Gauff’s triumphant return to New York for the 2023 US Open.

Starting August 21, the New Balance Coco CG2′ Power and Grace’ colorway will be available for $170 through NewBalance.com and select retailers. The ‘Coco’s Court’ pop-up event on August 23-24 will offer New York City fans an immersive experience inspired by Gauff’s favorite things and an exclusive pop-up colorway.
