Vernon Davis Leads Sports and Comedy Fusion in New Series “Match Point”

The exciting crossover between sports and entertainment is still rising, with former NFL star Vernon Davis taking the lead in the upcoming comedy series Match Point. Dido Belle Productions recently announced the series’ production, which will start on September 9. This 10-episode sports mockumentary promises to bring a new blend of humor and athleticism, emphasizing the merging of sports and entertainment that has captivated audiences in recent years.

Davis will be part of Match Point along with actor-comedians Rob Gordon and Ashley Haas and fellow former NFL player Omar Bolden, who has made a name for himself in the entertainment industry with Nice & Neat and REVOLT TV.

Joslyn Rose Lyons, an Emmy-nominated director, has directed, written, and created the series featuring Stand on Showtime Sports/Paramount Plus. This latest project aims to push the boundaries of conventional storytelling.

Davis and Bolden host a fictional podcast called Match Point, which is in the vibrant world of podcasting. Being a two-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion, Davis is well-versed in the entertainment industry. Following his 14-year NFL retirement in 2019 and participating in over 30 projects, he has established an impressive acting portfolio.
