Reggie Miller Joins NBC Sports as Lead NBA Game Analyst

Reggie Miller, a Hall of Famer and legendary sharpshooter, will be back on a familiar stage, this time as a microphone. Miller is set to become a top game analyst at NBC Sports starting in the 2025-26 NBA season, which coincides with the league’s return to NBC and its Peacock coverage beginning in October. Miller, regarded as one of the most critical players in NBA history, spent his 18-season career with the Indiana Pacers. Miller, who was the franchise’s all-time leader in points, assists, and steals, retired with 2,560 made three-pointers, which is now tied for third place in NBA history.

In addition to five NBA All-Star selections, he led the Pacers to the 2000 NBA Finals, won an Olympic gold medal with Team USA in 1996, and was named to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team. His legacy as one of the game’s all-time greats was sealed when he was enshrined in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame 2012. Miller has been a broadcaster for Turner Sports for twenty years, providing insightful analysis and commentary during the regular season, NBA All-Star games, and high-stakes playoff matchups, including the Conference Finals. He will continue with Turner until the 2024-25 season before officially transitioning to NBC Sports in October.

“It’s good to be HOME, NBC Sports…and hello, Peacock!” Miller said in a statement. “Some of my most memorable moments have been on NBC, and I’m looking forward to creating more.”

Miller’s arrival on NBC Sports with enthusiasm, “Having provided so many memorable moments on NBC during his playing days, it’s only fitting that Reggie will join our team as the NBA returns to NBC and debuts on Peacock. As basketball fans know, not only was Reggie one of the game’s greatest shooters and clutch performers, but he was also one of its most entertaining players, with a unique combination of skill and swagger. He has successfully brought those traits to his broadcasting career and consistently provides viewers with in-depth analysis while pulling no punches.”

From 1990 until 2002, NBC Sports was the NBA’s primary broadcaster during Miller’s playing career. The network’s coverage was anchored by his electrifying performances, with his eight points in nine seconds against the New York Knicks in Game 1 of the 1995 Eastern Conference Semifinals being his most famous. He won the 1998 Eastern Conference Finals with a game-winning shot over Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls, and Bob Costas’ iconic call followed.

One of the greatest clutch performers of his generation has apparently done it again, further solidifying Miller’s reputation for delivering in the biggest moments.

NBC Sports is creating a stellar lineup for its NBA coverage. Along with Miller, Jamal Crawford, a three-time NBA Sixth Man of the Year, will analyze the games, and veteran broadcaster  Mike Tirico will lead the play-by-play team. In December 2024, Frank DiGraci, an Emmy Award-winning producer, became the coordinating producer for NBC Sports’ NBA coverage. The announcement results from an 11-year media rights deal between NBCUniversal and the NBA that was agreed upon in July 2024.

By the agreement, Peacock will stream exclusive national Monday night games, while NBC and Peacock will broadcast regional doubleheaders on Tuesday nights. In 2026, NBC Sports will introduce ‘Sunday Night Basketball’, guaranteeing three nights worth of national coverage on NBCUniversal platforms during the regular season’s second half.

Miller’s arrival at NBC Sports is a thrilling new chapter for both the network and NBA fans, as he brings expertise, charisma, and a deep connection to the game. Basketball fans can expect to hear one of the game’s most iconic voices break down the action from the analyst’s chair once again as the league returns to NBC nears.
