On July 10th, the biggest names in sports packed into the MGM Grand Theater in Las Vegas for a night that had nothing to do with box scores.
Players Honors isn’t about stats. It’s not about a jump shot, a tackle, or a personal record. It’s about what athletes do when the lights on the court, field, or track go dark — the community work, the health advocacy, the leadership that never shows up on a highlight reel but changes people’s lives anyway. Presented by Novartis, the night put a spotlight on impact over instinct. On health. On wellness. On what it actually looks like when an athlete decides their platform is bigger than their sport.
AJ Andrews hosted the night — and she did it the way she does everything, with the kind of presence that made a theater full of athletes feel like family. And the room was stacked.
Monique Billings was there. A WNBA veteran who’s never separated her game from her advocacy work off the court. Myron Rolle was there — a name that means something different depending on who you ask: Rhodes Scholar, former NFL player, now a practicing neurosurgeon, living proof that an athlete’s story doesn’t end when the uniform comes off. Aerial Powers was there, another WNBA name who’s built a career on showing up — for her team, and for the communities that raised her. CJ McCollum was there, one of the most respected voices in the NBA, a player who’s spent as much time building things off the floor as he has scoring on it.
And that’s not the full list. Not even close. We’re keeping the rest close to the chest on purpose.
Here’s the thing: we’re not giving you the winners. Not the moments. Not who said what when they walked off that stage, or what it looked like when the room reacted. That’s the whole point of a broadcast — some things you have to watch live, in real time, the way they’re meant to be experienced.
What we will tell you is this. Players Honors is built on a simple idea: athletes are more than their highlight reels. They’re advocates, mentors, and leaders in their communities long before and long after the cameras stop rolling on game day. Novartis signed on as presenting sponsor because that mission — health, wellness, community impact — is exactly the space they operate in too. This wasn’t a partnership built for a logo placement. It was built because both sides believe the same thing: taking care of people is the real work.
That’s what July 10th was about. A room full of athletes who’ve already done the work, being recognized by their peers for it.
And now it’s your turn to see it.
Players Honors airs live on August 16th, across YouTube, DirecTV, PlayersTV.com, Philo, and Fubo. Every platform. Every screen. One night.
Because the athletes who showed up in Las Vegas didn’t show up for a trophy. They showed up because health, wellness, and community aren’t side projects for them — they’re the work, the same as anything they do between the lines. On August 16th, you get to see exactly why that work earned them a stage.
Set your reminder. Tell your friends. Clear the night.
You’ll want to see this one for yourself.
