McDonald’s & Angel Reese Make History with New Signature Meal

The connection between McDonald’s and basketball goes back a long way. For over 40 years, the McDonald’s All-American Games have showcased the nation’s top high school talent, starting with its iconic commercials featuring basketball legends.

The Golden Arches has been a staple of sports culture for a long time. McDonald’s is partnering with basketball champion, entrepreneur, and fashion icon Angel Reese to launch a new meal collaboration called The Angel Reese Special. Fans will be able to order the BBQ Bacon Quarter Pounder® with Cheese with a bold new Bold BBQ Sauce starting February 10 at McDonald’s locations across the U.S. that participate, and you can get it with World Famous Fries® and a drink of your choosing. This collaboration marks a historic moment—McDonald’s first-ever national meal partnership with a female athlete.

A Collab Rooted in Basketball Culture

Reese and McDonald’s partnership celebrates greatness and pays tribute to the brand’s deep basketball roots. Angel’s signature meal is inspired by her bold energy, from her unapologetic style to her dominance on the court.

“There’s a real connection between McDonald’s and basketball fans,” said Jennifer “JJ” Healan, Vice President of Marketing, Brand, Content & Culture at McDonald’s. “We want to continue to fuel their love for the game and support athletes on and off the court. We’re excited to bring our legacy with basketball culture to a new generation, and partnering with Angel is only the beginning.”

The Bold BBQ Sauce, a smoky, sweet, and slightly spicy addition, elevates the Quarter Pounder’s classic flavors, making this a must-try for fans looking for something fresh yet familiar.

More Than Just a Meal

McDonald’s is releasing exclusive content to commemorate its long history in basketball, not just food. Be prepared for tributes to legendary players, rising stars, and unforgettable McDonald’s All-American moments that have impacted the game for decades. Angel Reese finds this collaboration personal.

“McDonald’s has always been a big part of my life, from grabbing a McChicken® Sandwich as a kid to being named a McDonald’s All American in 2020,” said Reese. “It’s really a dream come true to be the first-ever female athlete to have my own meal and be a part of McDonald’s amazing basketball legacy. I hope the Angel Reese Special inspires young athletes everywhere to never give up on pursuing their dreams.”
