Jason and Travis Kelce Secure Massive Deal with Amazon Wondery

Jason and Travis Kelce, both charismatic and accomplished NFL players, have taken their off-field success to new levels. The famous football brothers, known for their popular podcast ‘New Heights,’ have struck a monumental deal with Amazon’s Wondery, securing exclusive ad-sales and distribution rights. By ensuring a three-year partnership with Amazon, the Kelce brothers significantly contributed to their position in sports and the media landscape, with an estimated value of more than $100 million.

As of August 28, 2024, Wondery will hold global distribution rights to all audio and video episodes of ‘New Heights With Jason and Travis Kelce,’ including the show’s entire back catalog. Wondery can distribute new episodes and create international podcast adaptations, which is what this means. In addition, Wondery has exclusive rights to monetize the show through advertisements, which brings significant revenue potential to the table.

Even though the deal is exclusive, ‘New Heights’ will still be accessible on all major podcast platforms, including Wondery’s channels and YouTube. Wondery+ subscribers can enjoy uninterrupted episodes if they want an ad-free experience. As part of the deal, Wondery will have the rights to develop, manufacture, license, and distribute products based on the podcast, as well as live streams and new merchandise.

“We couldn’t be more excited to team up with Wondery for the next phase of ‘New Heights,'” the Kelce brothers said in a joint statement. “We love this show, and the fanbase that has grown with us over the last two seasons. Wondery understands the shared vision and will offer a wealth of experience and resources to take us to ‘New Heights’! We are going to create some groundbreaking moments together through this partnership. We are thrilled to start Season 3 — see you soon, 92%ers!”

Wondery’s CEO Jen Sargent highlighted the podcast’s unique appeal, noting that while ‘New Heights’ may appear to be another sports podcast, it has evolved into something more significant.

“‘New Heights’ on the surface is a sports podcast, and sports is such a well-listened-to category,” Sargent said. “But it’s become a cultural phenomenon — they’re in that cultural zeitgeist.

The podcast was introduced at the beginning of the NFL’s 2022-23 season, and the brothers discussed life on the field and shared personal anecdotes from their daily lives. Wondery’s deal aligns with other prominent podcast deals, including Dax Shepard’s $80 million agreement with Wondery and Joe Rogan’s $250 million contract with Spotify.

Aaron Eanes, the co-founder of A&A Management that oversees Travis Kelce, expressed enthusiasm regarding the partnership. “The tremendous growth of ‘New Heights’ over the past few years is a testament to the talent and dedication that Travis and Jason — as well as the fantastic team behind the scenes — continue to pour into every episode,” Eanes said. “We are excited to partner with Wondery for this new chapter of the podcast and look forward to reaching new heights.”
