In the interview, Booker expressed, “I do it naturally, having it in my family obviously makes me comfortable in situations. I know some people who get around a child with disabilities make them uncomfortable. [I like to keep an eye out for them], but like I said, I have experienced and dealt with it my whole life. It’s just what I naturally do.”

Booker’s daily motivation is intricately tied to his sister’s resilience. Mya Powell’s ability to inspire her older brother has driven Booker’s commitment to raising awareness. He recognizes that the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and special needs extend beyond the immediate family and into society, and he hopes to use his platform to bridge the gap and foster greater understanding.

Devin Booker is not limiting his advocacy efforts to mere words; he is actively working to promote inclusivity and support for those with disabilities within the NBA community. By openly discussing his experiences and emphasizing the importance of empathy, Booker encourages fellow athletes, fans, and the broader community to embrace a more inclusive mindset.

Through initiatives, partnerships, and collaborations, Booker aims to establish programs that contribute to the overall well-being and integration of individuals with disabilities. He hopes that the NBA community can become a model for inclusivity, inspiring positive change in sports and society alike.

Booker’s commitment to raising awareness for disabilities and special needs has the potential to create a ripple effect throughout the NBA and beyond. As a respected figure in the league, his advocacy may prompt other players, teams, and fans to consider the unique challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and work towards creating a more inclusive and supportive environment.

Devin Booker’s dedication to bringing awareness to disabilities and special needs in the NBA community is not only commendable but also indicative of the positive impact athletes can have beyond their respective sports. By sharing his journey and using his platform to advocate for inclusivity, Booker is contributing to a cultural shift that promotes empathy, understanding, and support for individuals facing unique challenges.

As the Phoenix Suns All-Star guard continues to champion this cause, it is hopeful that his efforts will inspire others within the NBA and beyond to join the movement toward a more inclusive and compassionate society.
