Supermodel Winnie Harlow has been confirmed to walk down the aisle! The 30-year-old fashion icon said ‘yes’ to Milwaukee Bucks small forward Kyle Kuzma on February 13, marking a romantic milestone in their four-year relationship.

The couple shared their exciting news with fans on Tuesday, February 18, through a joint Instagram post featuring a series of intimate photos. The images show the couple on a private plane, with Harlow proudly displaying her stunning new engagement ring. Vogue had an exclusive interview with Harlow to reveal that the heartfelt proposal was a carefully planned surprise that left Harlow speechless.

A Romantic Proposal in the Skies

Kuzma arranged a picture-perfect moment for their vacation to the Turks and Caicos by chartering a private jet that included red roses, balloons, chocolate, and champagne. At first, Harlow thought the setup was just a grand Valentine’s Day gesture, but Kuzma had a lot more in store. After boarding, the NBA star requested Harlow to sit next to him before reading a heartfelt poem he had composed. “For a split second in my head I thought, ‘This would be so cute if this was an engagement,'” Harlow told Vogue. She ignored the thought, not wanting to disturb the moment. Kuzma’s fleeting suspicion became a reality when he concluded his poem with the phrase: Will you marry me? Harlow was given an exquisite 8.5-carat oval-cut diamond ring by Kuzma, a custom piece that took him three months to design himself.

“I never really asked her what type of ring she liked or anything,” he told Vogue. “I just wanted to draw a picture of what I felt resembled her—something elegant, but timeless and simplistic at the same time.”

A Family Celebration in Paradise

There were more surprises to come. Harlow excitedly called her loved ones to share the news with them when she landed in Turks and Caicos. Despite her sister’s lack of response, her mother abruptly ended the call by saying she had no time to talk. Harlow was unfazed and confused when he arrived at their villa, only to find their families waiting to celebrate in person. The evening ended with a dinner on the beach and a stunning fireworks display, elevating the moment to a new level of magic.

A Love That Started Online

In early 2020, Harlow and Kuzma started their love story during the COVID-19 pandemic. Harlow revealed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that their relationship was almost nonexistent. Kuzma had messaged her on Instagram in 2019, but she never saw it.

When they finally connected, the chemistry between them was undeniable. Harlow decided to move to Los Angeles after months of daily conversations with Kuzma, who was playing for the L.A. Lakers.

Kuzma recounted how their love story began during the GQ Couples Quiz in February 2023.

“The pandemic had just started, and nobody was flying because it was sketchy,” he recalled. “So, I was like, ‘Alright, well, you need to fly out here private.’ This was the first time we met. I really wanted to see her, and the safest thing was that jet. And that’s how we found love.”

Lighthearted moments have also shown their devotion to each other. In July 2023, Harlow made an amusing attempt to avoid Usher’s onstage serenade by jumping onto Kuzma’s lap during a concert. “Okay, you chose,” Usher joked before respectfully moving on. A month later, Harlow went above and beyond her commitment by getting a tattoo of Kuzma’s first name, Kyle, behind her ear.
