Providing active-duty service members from Creech and Nellis Air Force Bases with a unique opportunity to train as professional football players. This event, which was held on the Raiders’ off-day, had football drills, player interactions, and friendly competition, creating an experience that combined the excitement of the NFL with a sincere appreciation for the military community.
Military participants were joined by current Raiders players and alumni, including Dalton Wagner, Will Putnam, Adam Butler, and Leo Gray, during the boot camp. The service members underwent a series of football drills designed to mirror those used by coaches to evaluate NFL talent, which were coached by these NFL professionals. Teams of participants competed in events such as the 40-yard dash, broad jump, three-cone shuttle, receiving gauntlet, and QB arm challenge.
Besides physical training, the event had a few lighter moments, including a friendly game of Madden ’25, thanks to USAA’s partnership with the popular video game. In a relaxed setting, service members and players competed on kiosks set up in the VIP hospitality suite.
The day’s events were enhanced by the presence of players and alumni who signed autographs, took photos, and personally thanked the military participants for their service.
USAA and the Raiders are collaborating to promote a strong connection between the military and the NFL through USAA’s Salute to Service NFL Boot Camp. The Salute to Service platform is now in its third year and is evolving, providing more opportunities for military appreciation and engagement. By hosting this event, USAA and the Raiders are demonstrating their shared commitment to bringing the local military community closer to their favorite sport while also honoring their dedication and service.
The NFL Boot Camp is an example of how the Raiders and USAA are giving back to those who serve while also creating lasting memories and bonds that extend beyond the football field.
