Travis Kelce Invests in Six Flags to Revive Iconic Amusement Parks

Travis Kelce smiles during a press event announcing his investment in Six Flags amusement parks.

Travis Kelce, a Kansas City Chiefs star and three-time Super Bowl champion, is now an amusement park investor. The NFL player, who is also engaged to global superstar Taylor Swift, announced that he is teaming up with Jana Partners to revitalize one of America’s most iconic entertainment brands: Six Flags.

Kelce, Glenn Murphy, and Dave Habiger, a consumer executive, were among those who revealed Jana Partners’ partnership with Six Flags on Tuesday. After the announcement, Six Flags’ stock rose by over 15%, indicating renewed investor confidence in the brand’s direction. Kelce and his investment partners have a plan to work with Six Flags’ current leadership to increase shareholder value and enhance the guests’ experience, according to Jana.

Trying to bring new life to parks that have struggled in recent years. Even after the initial market boost, the company’s stock remains around 48% down in 2025, highlighting the challenges ahead. Kelce’s move is more than just a business decision; it’s deeply personal.
“I am a lifelong Six Flags fan and grew up going to these parks with my family and friends,” Kelce said in a statement. “The chance to help make Six Flags special for the next generation is one I couldn’t pass up.”
Kelce’s love for amusement parks came from frequent visits to Cedar Point, a legendary roller coaster park that merged with Six Flags in 2024, as part of his Ohio upbringing. This investment is more than just a financial venture; it’s a nostalgic return to the thrills that shaped his early years, driven by a childhood connection.
On his popular podcast, ‘New Heights,’ which he co-hosts with his brother, former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, Kelce recently discussed the move. Jason joked about Travis being a ‘roller-coaster tycoon’ and inquired if there would be a Kelce-themed roller coaster in the future.
“It’s gotta have a few drops in there. One or two. I don’t know about a Millennium Force drop, but definitely loops,” Travis said with a laugh, referencing Cedar Point’s world-famous coaster.
Kelce’s enthusiasm was unmistakable, even though he didn’t jump headfirst into theme park development yet. He revealed that he is already planning off-season trips to visit various Six Flags locations to examine how he can improve the guest experience.
“You could just be a kid forever,” Kelce said. “I got my prestige season pass ready to rock and roll as soon as the season’s over. I’m going to try and get to as many [parks] as I can this off-season — see everything Six Flags has to offer outside of just Ohio.”
Kelce’s involvement in Six Flags’ efforts to modernize and attract new visitors is a combination of star power and genuine passion. As an athlete who specializes in excitement, energy, and entertainment, helping to reinvent America’s theme park experience feels like a perfect match. Kelce’s latest investment is unusual in a world where business ventures are often driven by transactional profit, rather than a genuine desire to rekindle the joy of childhood adventure for millions of families across the country.
