The Lauderhill Golf Course in Florida saw the collaboration between Rolling Loud, which is the largest hip-hop festival in the world, and Eastside Golf, a golf lifestyle brand. Their mission? Connecting with young golfers and providing them with valuable skills for both on and off the course is the goal of Fore Life, Inc. Initiatives that pertain to Golf Over Guns.
Fore Life, Inc. Golf Over Guns and Golf Over Guns are non-profit organizations dedicated to empowering young people through golf. These programs aim to teach golf skills and etiquette with the purpose of promoting self-discipline, hard work, and perseverance. The event was freshened by Rolling Loud and Eastside Golf’s involvement, which combined music and golf to inspire and engage the young participants.
The beginning of the event was marked by a golf clinic, where experienced coaches provided participants with hands-on guidance.
The founders of Eastside Golf, Earl Cooper and Olajuwon Ajanaku, shared their love for golf and highlighted its benefits outside of the game.
“People just see the majority of white folks playing it, so they don’t know where they fit or where they represent,” said Cooper. “What we’re about isn’t necessarily a white man’s game or a Black man’s game—we’re about the game.
“We know the game has not fully represented everyone so we want to make sure they feel encouraged and we want to tell the history of that so we’re not ashamed of that or are moving away from that.”
“We have a chance to be game changers,” Ajanaku said. “As long as we can keep doing that and do that on a grand scale and truly make golf ‘non-traditional,’ but still respect it, we’re headed down the right path.”
Matt Zingler, the co-founder of Rolling Loud, also attended, underlining the significance of giving back to the community.
“Golf and hip-hop used to feel like totally different worlds, but over the years, they’ve come together in some incredible ways,” said Rolling Loud founders Matt Zingler and Tariq Cherif. “More and more artists are taking up the game, and Eastside Golf has been right at the heart of this movement, bringing real culture and authenticity to the sport. With this partnership, we’re excited to show how golf can resonate with a younger, more diverse crowd, opening doors for the next generation.”
The organization of the event was made possible by Fore Life, Inc., and Golf Over Guns, who demonstrated their shared commitment to empowering youth. Golf is used as a platform by these organizations to teach essential life skills while also providing a positive outlet for children in underserved communities.
“We are incredibly grateful when others acknowledge the hard work our team puts in at Fore Life Inc. Our mission is to give kids a better SWING at life through the game of golf, and with the support of organizations like @eastsidegolf @rollingloud @cprfcharity , we can keep making that impact. Thank you for helping us create a day of hope and opportunity for our young golfers. 🙌”
Participants left the Lauderhill Golf Course with improved swings and a renewed sense of purpose and possibility as the sun set over the course. A lot of young golfers expressed their gratitude for the chance to learn from mentors who comprehended their struggles and aspirations. The importance of creating spaces where culture, sports, and mentorship intersect is underscored by events like these. Rolling Loud’s commitment to fostering positive change in the community has been demonstrated by their partnerships with organizations and brands like Fore Life, Golf Over Guns, and Eastside Golf. The message is clear as this collaboration grows: golf is not just a game. It’s a platform for growth, empowerment, and a brighter future for all.
