Ping Pong, Philanthropy, and Star Power: Paddle of the Sexes Lights Up NYC
This past Friday, the stars came out for an unforgettable night of networking, cognac, and ping pong at the Paddle of the Sexes Celebrity Ping Pong Tournament. Hosted by Hard2Guard Entertainment, the high-energy event combined sports, entertainment, and charity under one roof, uniting celebrities and athletes for a cause that resonates. The annual tournament raised funds for organizations like the Precious Dreams Foundation and the Willie and Aikisha Colon Foundation, which support needy children, highlighting how competition and philanthropy can work together for a positive impact.
The one-night extravaganza, featuring 32 competitors battling for the coveted championship belt, was filled with fast rallies, trick shots, and playful banter. Attendees enjoyed the spirited competition, side games, curated cocktails from D’USSE, and plenty of opportunities to mingle, creating a fun, laid-back atmosphere for all.
Held at Slate NYC, the event brought together a diverse lineup of former pro athletes, actors, podcast hosts, and viral content creators. Standout participants included New York Jets legend and ESPN radio host Bart Scott, former Philadelphia Eagles star Brian Westbrook, viral sensation Callie F. Buddy, Barstool Sports host “Large” McCarthy, actress Jerrie Johnson, and Fox Sports analyst Willie Colon, whose foundation was one of the beneficiaries.
In a surprise twist, Mike Collins, a late entrant with just two weeks’ notice, made a Cinderella run to claim the championship belt and an autographed Jalen Brunson jersey, courtesy of MSG Networks. But the true winners of the night were Hard2Guard Entertainment, D’USSE, Slate, and the event’s supporters for spotlighting the sport of ping pong and raising money for a worthy cause.
