Lauren Jackson, a five-time Olympian and basketball icon, is set to make a significant impact off the court as she transitions into a new role as a special advisor in Australia’s Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL). The new ownership group will benefit from the vast experience and strategic vision of the former Seattle Storm star and seven-time WNBL champion.  NBL Group and Wollemi Capital Group Syndicate are officially preparing to take the reins on April 2.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to be part of this next chapter for the WNBL,” Jackson said in a statement. “This league has been at the heart of my journey in basketball. Now I have the chance to help create an exciting future where our talented players thrive in a professional environment worthy of their skill and passion.”

Jackson’s illustrious career speaks volumes. At 43, he is the former WNBA Most Valuable Player with Seattle Storm, a four-time Olympic medalist, and a Basketball Hall of Fame member.
