Kobe Bryant’s Nephew Saftey Jett Washington Will Be Attending Oregon

The Oregon Ducks have added a significant player to their 2026 recruiting class by bringing in Jett Washington, a well-known safety from Bishop Gorman High School in Nevada. Washington, who is 6-foot-5 and weighs around 210 pounds, is recognized for his impressive physical attributes and versatile athleticism.

Washington’s reputation on the field hasn’t changed, even though he’s known for being the nephew of NBA legend Kobe Bryant. His dedication and hard work have resulted in his recent rise to five-star status in ESPN’s updated class rankings. He is currently listed as the No. 21 overall recruit nationally, with some sources ranking him at No. 22, both reflecting his elite standing among his peers.

ESPN emphasized the development and potential of Washington, mentioning that he was initially rated outside the five-star echelon but was elevated after a stellar performance at a high school camp this off-season. His transition from wide receiver to safety was praised by the publication, with emphasis placed on his long, rangy frame and the ability to cover ground effectively. Due to his size, he can excel in high-pointing the ball and winning contests matchups, demonstrating excellent ball skills and physicality.

A strong sense of belonging and confidence in the program’s future were the driving forces behind Washington’s commitment to Oregon. “I just felt the time was right,” he stated. “I took my official visits and saw what I needed to see. They have built a great relationship with me and my family.” His decision adds a valuable piece to Oregon’s 2026 recruiting class, which is currently ranked 30th nationally and includes 10 pledges, leaving room for further growth.

Oregon’s recruiting efforts are continuing to attract top-tier talent, with Washington and Kendre Harrison, an elite tight end and basketball prospect from Reidsville, North Carolina, among them. The Ducks are well-positioned to build a competitive roster for the future with their promising prospects.
