High school basketball sensation Kaleena Smith has become the first athlete to sign an NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) deal with sporting giant Adidas, making her a groundbreaking. Candace Parker, the WNBA legend and Adidas Women’s Basketball president, announced that 15-year-old Ontario Christian High School student is the latest member of the Adidas family.
Her name is being whispered in arenas she hasn’t even played in yet.

Smith, who has already become known as one of the most promising young players in the game.
Joins Adidas-sponsored athletes in a significant moment in the brand’s commitment to expanding the game of basketball, especially for women. The Class of 2027‘s top prospect is widely believed to be the sophomore player and has been recently added to the 2024 USA Women’s U17 National Team. In addition to her impressive accomplishments, she was also recognized as the 2023-2024 MaxPreps National Freshman of the Year.

The growth of women’s basketball has always been Parker’s concern, and she expressed her excitement over Smith’s partnership with Adidas.

Adidas will sponsor Smith’s high school and AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) teams as part of the deal, strengthening their commitment to fostering young talent. Smith’s AAU team is now part of the prestigious 3SSB Circuit, which features some of the top young athletes in the nation, as part of the partnership.
