Indiana Fever star Erica Wheeler is adding a new title to her resume as a business restaurateur. The nine-year WNBA veteran and her business partners opened Cliché Restaurant Bar at 1650 Virginia Ave in College Park, Georgia.
Cliché Restaurant Bar’s culinary experience will be diverse and draw from a unique blend of American and Mediterranean cuisine. Cliché will also feature a hookah lounge.
“In College Park, they don’t have comfort food when it comes to collard greens, yams, [and] sweet potatoes. It is literally five minutes away from the airport,” said Wheeler.
“ So, we thought that was a great location to have something like that because they did not have anything in that area. We have been open for the last two weeks, and reservations have been sold out. So, it has been great.”
The restaurant aims to unite people by serving shared plates bursting with exceptional flavors, creating an ambiance that reflects Wheeler’s warm and inclusive personality. This unique dining experience will leave you eagerly anticipating your next visit.
Erica Wheeler and her business partners’ passion for food and community drove them to enter the restaurant business. Erica’s dedication and enthusiasm for this new venture are similar to her tenacity and court leadership, inspiring a sense of connection and shared journey with her audience.
“We have been working for about a year [so that] the timing couldn’t be perfect. There are a lot of things that go into a restaurant that you just can’t rush,” Wheeler shared.
“We have been working on [this] project for a year, and it just so happened to open up around [the] WNBA season time.”
Wheeler’s decision to enter the restaurant industry is proof of her entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to giving back to the community. Her vision is to make Cliché Restaurant Bar a beloved dining destination in College Park.
