PlayersTV is proud to announce the launch of Health Is Wealth, a new and inspiring interview series hosted by former NFL player turned neurosurgeon, Dr. Myron Rolle. Health Is Wealth brings viewers behind the scenes and into the lives of star athletes for intimate, thought-provoking conversations on personal wellness, longevity, mental health, and purpose. PlayersTV has partnered with Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation as its exclusive advertising partner to bring Health Is Wealth to life. Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation is a global healthcare leader committed to reimagining medicine and improving access to care.
Dr. Rolle’s journey from the gridiron to the operating room is more than impressive; it’s a story of vision, grit, and commitment. He walked away from the field to save lives. Once an All-American football player at Florida State University, Dr. Rolle postponed his NFL career to complete a Rhodes Scholarship at Oxford University. He went on to play for the Tennessee Titans and Pittsburgh Steelers, before walking away from the NFL and returning to Florida State University’s School of Medicine to complete his medical degree. After training at Harvard University and Massachusetts General Hospital, he now serves as a Pediatric Neurosurgery Resident at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. In addition to leading global healthcare initiatives through the Caribbean Neurosurgery Foundation, Dr. Rolle is a tireless advocate for underserved communities in his hometown of Orlando, Florida.
In this series, Health is Wealth, Dr. Rolle is opening up meaningful conversations around health and longevity, especially within the athletic and Black communities. Each episode features candid interviews with high-profile guests who share their personal stories, struggles, and breakthroughs around wellness, both on and off the field. What makes Health Is Wealth stand out is its ability to educate while remaining authentic and personal. These are real conversations about life, legacy, and healing. The show tackles important topics such as mental health, chronic illness, injury prevention, and the stigma around asking for help, especially among athletes who are expected to always be strong.
Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation’s support of this series is a shared mission to improve lives through knowledge, access, and understanding. They are helping spark critical conversations around long-term health and how the choices we make today shape our futures. The debut episode kicks off with WNBA legend and Hall of Famer Sheryl Swoopes. She speaks openly about the mental and physical toll of being a professional athlete and the moment she realized something had to change after retirement. Her reflections are honest and vulnerable, and her passion for advocating for early cancer detection makes the conversation all the more urgent and impactful. It’s the kind of dialogue that goes beyond the game and speaks directly to the heart of what many athletes and fans experience but rarely talk about.
As a platform owned by athletes, for athletes, PlayersTV is proud to bring this series to life and put important wellness narratives in the spotlight. In a world that often prioritizes performance over health, Health Is Wealth reminds us that the two are deeply connected and that true success comes when we take care of both. PlayersTV co-founder Deron Guidrey said of the program: “Dr. Myron Rolle is an exemplary one-of-one professional we are honored to have as a member of the PlayersTV family. His expertise as a neurosurgeon and experience as a world-class athlete combine to make Health Is Wealth a dynamic viewing experience audiences won’t find anywhere else. Health Is Wealth will inform and inspire with voices our nation needs to hear today.”
The first episode of Health Is Wealth is now streaming exclusively on the PlayersTV YouTube channel and across the distribution network, including airtimes on DirecTV, Fubo, YouTube TV, and more.
