Florida State Hires Terence Mann As Assistant General Manager

On Thursday afternoon, Florida State men’s basketball coach Luke Loucks announced that Atlanta Hawks guard Terance Mann will be the team’s Assistant General Manager. This innovative move combines professional experience and mentoring for college students.

Mann, a proud Seminole alum, is seeing the trend of college basketball stars returning to their alma mater in advisory roles while still competing in the league. Steph Curry and Trae Young, Mann’s new teammate in Atlanta, both made similar moves by joining Davidson in a strategic advisory capacity, and Mann’s hiring follows suit.

The appointment is a full-circle moment for Mann, not just a formality. From 2016 to 2019, he played at Florida State for four seasons, leaving an indelible mark on the program. He is among the only three players in school history to have scored over 1,200 points, 600 rebounds, 200 assists, and 100 steals, demonstrating his versatility and leadership on both sides of the court.
