Miami-Dade County is being helped once again by DJ Khaled’s philanthropic initiative, the We The Best Foundation. The Jordan Golf Classic, the second annual event that benefits underserved communities, gathered an impressive group of athletes and celebrities, including Miami Heat legends Dwyane Wade, Alonzo Mourning, and Jimmy Butler. Michael Phelps, Ice Spice, Winnie Harlow, and Serena Williams were also present at the event, which combined sports and entertainment for a worthy cause.
DJ Khaled was especially grateful to basketball legend Michael Jordan, despite the star-studded guest list. Although Jordan himself did not attend, his youngest son, Marcus Jordan, was present, symbolizing the family’s continued commitment to charitable causes. Khaled expressed his deep gratitude towards Jordan for their involvement.
“I want to big up Michael Jordan, too. Michael Jordan is my partner in this golf classic and everything he’s done for this,” the Grammy Award winner started while speaking to Alexis Frazier of Local 10 news. “But not just this. Everything he does like, he’s like an idol to me, somebody that gives back like this.”
The purpose of the event is to promote golf among younger generations and raise funds, while also expanding on the success of last year’s inaugural event.
“Last year, the We The Best Foundation Golf Classic brought out so many friends and family to make a difference, play some great golf, and have an incredible day for a great cause. This year, we’re going even bigger,” Khaled said.
Nonprofits serving Miami-Dade’s underserved communities will receive proceeds from the event. The initiative’s goal is to encourage youth to take up golf clubs, breaking barriers in a sport that is often viewed as exclusive.
Khaled’s vision is enhanced by Michael Jordan’s recognition as a philanthropist. Jordan’s contribution, including a $10 million donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation on his 60th birthday, has established benchmarks for effective giving. Their commitment to meaningful change is further emphasized by his family’s ongoing work, as well as his mother Deloris Jordan’s advocacy for sickle cell anemia awareness.
DJ Khaled’s collaboration with his idol for such a noble cause is both a personal milestone and a reflection of his foundation’s mission. The We The Best Foundation is committed to empowering communities, and with partners such as Michael Jordan, its impact is only going to increase.
Khaled and his celebrity friends celebrated another successful event that combines golf, charity, and community spirit by saying ‘TEE UP AND BLESS UP!’
