Charles Barkley Launches Round Mound Media for Sports and Entertainment Content

Charles Barkley is preparing to launch Round Mound Media, his production company, as he prepares to expand beyond the basketball court and analyst desk. Recognized for his 16-season NBA career and nearly 25 years of being an analyst for Warner Bros. With the help of Ever Wonder Studio, led by Ian Orifice and supported by Jeff Zucker’s RedBird IMI, Barkley plans to extend his influence into content creation. Round Mound Media will devote its efforts to verse coom sports-related material to projects that examine popular culture and society. Barkley’s venture aims to produce original documentaries, scripted content, and live telecasts, making it an exciting addition to the growing trend of athletes entering the entertainment industry.

“Round Mound Media is about creating an outlet for my vision to share compelling, original stories meant to captivate audiences across the world,” said Barkley. He stressed his desire to engage in projects that allow him to be authentic and to utilize his platform to make a positive impact.

Ian Orefice, EverWonder’s CEO, pointed out that while Barkley is well-known for his sports career, his interests and passions go beyond that. According to Orefice, Barkley’s projects will explore culture, society, and entertainment in fresh and unexpected ways, and he added, “This will be a great outlet for him to have.” Ten projects are being developed, including a long-form documentary chronicling Barkley’s life and a documentary film franchise focusing on untold stories from basketball. In addition, scripted content will be produced to provide viewers with a wide range of material.

Barkley will not discontinue his duties as a producer for TNT Sports with Warner Bros. despite his new role. Discovery is examining any sports-related projects developed by Round Mound Media for the first time. Barkley’s longtime manager, Marc Perman, who has worked with him for over 30 years, will serve as the new company’s president. Perman and Barkley previously collaborated to create the limited series American Race and The Great Debate with Charles Barkley on TNT.

Barkley’s vision will be brought to life with the help of EverWonder Studio, which specializes in non-fiction content. The company has produced events like the Players’ Era Festival in conjunction with TNT Sports, providing college athletes a chance to promote their name, image, and likeness. Orefice is enthusiastic about the collaboration with Barkley, stating, “With this new joint venture, we have the backing of a studio that understands and believes in Charles’s creative vision.”

Jeff Zucker, who worked closely with Barkley at Turner Sports, shares the same enthusiasm about the partnership. Charles is an incredible storyteller, and I’m thrilled to watch the growth of Round Mound Media and EverWonder together,” Zucker said.

Fans and audiences can look forward to diverse and authentic content that reflects Barkley’s unique perspective as Round Mound Media begins. Barkley’s latest venture will mark the content landscape, exploring untold stories in sports and tackling wider cultural themes, just as it has in basketball.
