Bam Adebayo Teams with Maker’s Mark for Special Bourbon Release

An exciting partnership was announced between Maker’s Mark and Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo on November 21 to create a one-of-a-kind bourbon in honor of his mother, Marilyn Blount. Bam & Marilyn’s 1 of 1 is a limited-edition blend that can be found in Miami at select retailers for $69.99. Adebayo and his mother visited Maker’s Mark’s distillery to participate in the brand’s Private Selection Program. They chose a barrel and made a whiskey that met both their flavor preferences during their visit.

“It was a pleasure to host Bam and Marilyn at the Maker’s Mark homeplace this summer,” said Rob Samuels, eighth-generation whiskey maker and Managing Director of Maker’s Mark. “This partnership is a fantastic opportunity to combine our passion for exceptional bourbon with a deep commitment to supporting visionaries who create a positive impact in communities around the country.”

A special dinner in Miami was held on November 20 to celebrate the release of Bam & Marilyn’s 1 of 1, with guests enjoying cocktails made with the new bourbon. Adebayo expressed his great admiration for his mother by saying:

“My mom is my inspiration on and off the court, and it was a great experience to create our own custom blend of Maker’s Mark.”

Earlier this year, Maker’s Mark partnered with Cal Ripken Jr., who was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Their private selection bourbon will be released by Bill Ripken and his brother. Maker’s Mark is continuing its tradition of working with athletes to create high-quality bourbons with the release of Bam & Marilyn’s 1 of 1.
